A remarkably versatile construction material used for supporting large structures like buildings, railway lines, and frameworks made up of a combination of iron and carbon is what we term “steel.” There are different types of steel used in industry or by stainless steel scrap buyers in Saudi Arabia, such as carbon steel, stainless steel alloy steel, tool steel, and more.

But did you know that there are more than 3500 different grades of steel used in several ways? These grades are divided into a few groups that best define their composition.
- Mild steel: A ferrous metal made from iron and carbon that contains less than 0.25% of the carbon and other alloying elements. Primarily used for most general engineering applications like welding and construction structures, mild steel also costs less.
- High-yield steel: Another low-carbon steel with less than 0.25% of carbon in it, high-yield steel is routinely used to manufacture components that are able to resist abrasive forces.
- Carbon steel: Made with a high level of wear resistance, carbon steel is used in building bridges, axles, gears, shafts, rails, and others. The composition of carbon steel includes carbon and iron in about 1% carbon and 1.65% of Mn with other elements in different quantities.
- Boron steel: A steel alloyed with iron, carbon, and other elements like boron, it is widely used for a variety of applications like punching tools, spades, knives, safety beams, and others.
- Engineering steel: From being used in cars and construction projects to being used in refrigerators and washing machines, engineering steel has the biggest usage of all. It contains higher-quality carbon and alloys and is constantly recycled again and again.
What we see in terms of construction and building steel, iron, and carbon is a major part of it, but while the process of construction goes on, there are several heavy steel scraps left in the air. One can use that steel scrap for recycling and earn money by selling it to a Scrap Metal Dealer like Scraapy.
